The impact of scrap metal grading on prices

The price given to you for your scrap metal will be dependent on its grading. Scrap metal can be classified into a higher or lower grade. Look below for more information about the different grades.
Grade 1
No associated alloys within the material are present in the metal. No corrosion should be associated with the scrap metal and it should be of a particular diameter and size.
Grade 2
Metals are mostly produced from alloy, with the primary metal being the metal you want to scrap. For example, Grade 2 copper is usually 99% pure, whereas Grade 1 copper is 100% pure. Metals must be clean of external contamination to obtain the highest-level grading, resulting in the best possible scrap metal prices.
